Lion Nora Patterson was recognized as a Melvin Jones Fellow on Tuesday night for her lifetime commitment to humanitarian work. Nora is a longtime Treasurer and member of the Garrison Lions Club. She has contributed countless hours of volunteer work and selfless service. This is only the second award of its type to be presented since the Garrison Lions Club was chartered in 1945. The international award was presented by District Governor Chris Gunstream of Marshall, Texas. Lions Clubs International is the largest humanitarian service organization in the world. This fellowship is the Lions Foundation’s highest honor and represents qualities such as generosity, compassion, and concern for the less fortunate. If you want to make a difference in your community and the world, join a Lions Club. “WE SERVE”.
